Join the VMA for another stop on the Virginia Manufacturing Cup Tour! 

Members are invited to tour Lynchburg Organic Baking Co., a Flowers Foods facility, on Wednesday, May 21. See what it takes to make some of your favorite baked goods, including Dave's Killer Bread, which won the silver medal in the Food, Beverage, and Tobacco category of the 2024 Virginia Manufacturing Cup competition for "The Coolest Thing Made in Virginia."

Lynchburg Organic Baking Co., a Flowers Foods facility, has been a staple in Lynchburg, VA, since 1977. Originally Sta-Kleen, the bakery evolved through acquisitions before consolidating on Hollins Mill Road. In 2020, it transitioned to producing organic favorites like Dave’s Killer Bread to meet growing consumer demand. Committed to its community, the bakery’s employees volunteer monthly at the Salvation Army soup kitchen and support local causes like Relay for Life and school supply drives. Sustainability is also a priority—the facility has earned EPA ENERGY STAR certification annually since 2016, ranking among the top 25% of energy-efficient bakeries.
